Appointments 

At the Staploe Medical Centre we aim to provide prompt access whilst maintaining continuity of care for all our patients.  All our consultations are by appointment and can be booked by speaking to our reception team on 01353 624121.  Even if your problem is an urgent one this is the number to ring; we will respond quickly and appropriately.

You should be able to access your own GP, or another GP of your choice, easily.  To enable this we offer the following systems:

• Routine appointments bookable up to 3 months in advance

• Telephone access to any doctor on the same day, or the next day they are in

• A duty team that can respond quickly to any problem and offer advice or an appropriate appointment with a doctor or nurse

• High quality clinics for longstanding conditions

We believe these options allow the right balance between being available for advanced booking but responsive to new problems you may have, and allows acute problems to be managed alongside the care of longstanding health issues.  We constantly monitor our routine waiting times and generally expect appointments to be bookable within 3-4 working days.  If you feel you need to be seen sooner the Duty Team will happily help. 

We value any constructive comments or suggestions, so please use the suggestion box or speak to a receptionist if there are things you think could work better.

GOLDEN RULES FOR APPOINTMENTS

• If you decide that your appointment is no longer needed, please ring up and cancel so that someone else can have the appointment instead.
• Does more than one family member need to see the doctor? If so, please make a separate appointment for each person.
• If you have several different problems to discuss, please be aware that your doctor has only 10 minutes for each routine consultation
